KCWA holds Talent’s Competition 2025 with Special Felicitation to Adline Castelino

The Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), one of Kuwait’s premier associations, was formed in 1988 with the slogan “In pursuit to provide education to poor children” which is also the primary motto. Alongside the education, KCWA is dedicated to nurturing the talents of its members and their children, discovering hidden abilities that have since flourished within the community. 

KCWA Talent Competition was held on Friday, 28th November 2025 at the Indian Community School, Khaitan. The event commenced by the compares Tressy Cutinho and Arwin Rodrigues at 1.00 pm with an Opening Prayer led by Alban Dsouza. The day started with off-stage competitions, including the Cuty Baby photo, Colouring- Rainbow and Jubilee year-2025 logo, Draw and Color-Muja Ganvchi Sobai, Origami Art and Craft, Crossword, Cake (Foam Board cake model) and Salad making. The ICSK Auditorium was brimming with participants eager to showcase their talents.

Following the off-stage competitions, the stage performances commenced featuring a variety of acts such as Fancy Dress – Cartoon Character and Famous Personalities of Coastal Karnataka, Solo Singing and Dance, I Got Talent, Group Dance Junior and Senior, and Mando Singing. The participants lit up the stage with their remarkable performances, and the audience was especially captivated by the younger contestants, whose innocence and charm made the event all the more enchanting. Announcements were handled by Smitha Suvarna and Johnson D Almeida.

The judges for the competitions were Ms. Adline Castelino, Ms. Anita Sequeira, Ms. Cynthia Lobo, Mr. Faustino Menezes, Ms. Lavina Britto, Ms. Lavina Praphulla D Souza, Mr. Manoj Kumar, Mr. Morvine Quadras, Mr. Ronald Dsouza, Ms. Susan Thomas Colaco and Ms. Shalini Alva. Each event was judged by a panel of 3 judges for a fair outcome.

KCWA President, Mr. Prakash Pinto welcomed the gathering with a brief message about KCWA Talent Competitions and encouraged all the participants to give their best. KCWA’s Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. Avil Rosario, blessed the organizers, participants and audience.

The judge of the evening, KCWA member’s (Mr. Alphonse Castelino & Meera Castelino) daughter Ms. Adline Castelino, was warmly felicitated by KCWA in recognition of her achievements as Miss Diva Universe 2020 – Winner and Miss Universe 2020, 3rd Runner Up after 20 years by any Indians. The felicitation included a flower bouquet presented by PRO Prakash Gonsalves, a fruit basket by Cultural Secretary Anil Pais, a garland by General Secretary Reena Wilma Pereira, a memento by Vice President Arun Jossy D’Souza, a shawl by President Prakash Pinto, a peta by Fr. Avil Rosario.

Following this, she delivered a heartfelt note of thanks to KCWA for recognizing her achievements and for providing opportunities to emerging talents through their talent competitions. She expressed that this stage helps aspiring individuals reach greater heights.

The Judges were felicitated, and the winners were awarded by Fr. Avil Rosario, President Prakash Godwin Pinto, Vice President Arun Jossy Dsouza, General Secretary Reena Wilma Pereira, Cultural secretary Anil Pais, Talent Competition Coordinator Kevin Dsouza along with Immediate Past President Naveen Valerian Mascarenhas and Ex President Maria Rinna Dsouza.

Merit Scholarships for members’ children who excelled in the academic year 2024 – 2025 were announced by Vinitha Pinto with thanks extended to the sponsors Mr. Allan Pinto & Fly, Mr. Lawrence D Souza & Fly, Mr. Lester Dmello, Mr. Nitin Castelino & Fly, Mr. Oliver Dsouza & Fly, Mr. Prashanth Ferrao & Fly, Mr. Prakash Gonsalves & Fly, Mrs. & Mr. Ronie Jyothi Dsouza and Extra Curricular Awards announced which was sponsored by Mr. Harold D Souza & Fly. Coordinated by Education Fund Coordinator Veena Serrao.

Vote of thanks was presented by event coordinator Kevin Dsouza followed by prize distribution to the Talent competition winners.

The event was successfully coordinated by Kevin Dsouza, Jinella Rodrigues, Arwin Rodrigues with strong support from the rest of the Managing Committee and Support Committee members.

KCWA extends its gratitude to the management of ICSK for the school premises, Anand D Souza of M/s Waves Sounds for providing sounds and lights, Roshan Rodrigues for managing sound tracks of participants and timekeeping, Alban D Souza for photography & YouTube live, Nilton Dsouza for handling complete online registration process and KCWA Media Live video recording, Allan Dsouza for Facebook live and Stevan Rego from Phoenix Confectionery – Khaitan for managing the Snacks and food counter.

KCWA also wishes to thank the panel of judges who graciously presided over the event, all the support committee members, KCWA members, and most importantly, everyone who participated with their hard work and dedication, making this event a grand success. KCWA extends its best wishes to all the contestants for their future endeavors on various platforms.
