Message from the President

kcwa

Dear Members, Sponsors and Well-wishers,

Greetings!!!

I am most honored and humbled to be elected as the President KCWA, an association with a proud past and an exciting future. I, along with the Managing Committee members feel privileged by the opportunity given to us to serve for the term 2021– 2023.

KCWA is not only an identity of a prominent Mangalorean Association, but also an identity of Mangaloreans in Kuwait. The association initiated by four founder members, has been nurtured by seventeen presidents, tended by more than three hundred managing committee members, groomed by over two thousand seven hundred members and reaped by millions of poor children and needy brethren.

The fund raising efforts of any charitable organization can be daunting. There are countless hours and days spent on phone calls, letters, mailings and meetings. To be honest, asking for donations over and over is not the easiest of responsibilities, although the most important. But I am pleasantly pleased that those who support KCWA have been extremely generous. It is because of our members and contributors that we can continue to be a giving and supportive organization in Kuwait.

With the primary motto “In pursuit of ensuring education for poor children”, I am proud to mention that the total amount disbursed for providing education to the needy students and other humanitarian causes has reached a height of IRS 5 Crores in 33 years of KCWA’s existence. Reaching this milestone would not have been possible without the commitment of all the past presidents, managing committee members, our valued members, donors and well-wishers for their outstanding contribution to KCWA.

KCWA strives to preserve the Mangalorean culture and keep the Konkani language alive in Kuwait. Due to the prolonged impact of the covid-19 we face a transformative life today. It is going to be busy years ahead! We have started with few events and several more planned to be organized during the next two years. I encourage all of our members and their families to actively participate in all YOUR KCWA events and make each event a total success. While we upload events on the Youtube channel, I also urge you to like, subscribe and share YOUR KCWA YouTube channel ‘KCWA Kuwait’.

We are in the process of building a new web based system to streamline our membership data and facilitate the renewal process. Effective 1st September 2021, our members will receive renewal receipts directly on your email through our system. . In the meantime, please feel free to send your updated membership information, including email address and contact number to membership@kcwakuwait.org.

I am committed to working with all of you to make our community more responsive to those in need of our services, more engaged with our next generation, and more beneficial to our members. I believe that if we work together we can build on an incredible community, and that we can do even better. I encourage my fellow Mangalorean Catholics to become members of KCWA and support us in continuing the noble deeds. As Mother Teresa said “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving”.

I am honored and look forward to serving as the President of such a worthy organization. I thank you all for being a part of our commitment to bring change to the lives of those in need, and I look forward to working together.

Long Live KCWA

With much prayers,
Ruth Clara Veigas
