KCWA General Body Meeting

Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), a premier Catholic Association in Kuwait, held its General Body Meeting on Friday, 29th August 2014 in Indian Public School auditorium Salmiya.The meeting commenced at 6:30 pm with the opening prayer lead by Mr.Orson D’souza. President, Mr.Anil Fernandes heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude towards all the members for their support, love and encouragement.

 

 

Various Reports were presented and appreciated by all. Mr.Louis D’costa and Mrs.Reema D’Souza presented Minutes of last GBM and activity reports respectively. Members children who excelled in this year’s academics were felicitated by visiting priest Fr.Paul Melwin D’Souza. Mr.Anil Menezes read out the names of the students who brought laurels to the school and their parents. Finance, Membership and educational fund reports were presented by Mr.Gilbert Mathias, Mr.Praveen Menezes and Mr. Vijay D’souza respectively. Cultural and sports activity updates were presented by Mr.Orson D’Souza and Dr.Manohar Prabhu respectively. KCWA website and Facebook updates were presented by Mr.Rajesh Aranha. Football quiz winner Mr.Melvin D’Souza was honored with a memento. Lucky draw was held for the members present at the venue. Mrs.Shanti D’Souza won the smartphone, which was sponsored by Mr.Richard Martis. Monthi fest programme details were presented by Mr.Deepak Andrade. Spiritual director, Fr. Noel D’Almeida, lauded the works and achievements of KCWA. Visiting Priest Fr.Paul Melwin D’Souza praised the active participation of members in the meeting.

 

 

 

Ms.Freya Saldanha proposed vote of thanks followed by closing prayer.The meeting ended by singing ‘Moriyek Hogolsiya’.

Sound system was provided by Mr. AnandD’souza (illuminations). Mr.Rajesh Aranha facilitated power point presentation. The projector was provided by Mr.Walter Saldanha. The meeting was concluded at around 9:30 pm. Dinner was serverd by M&M confectionary. Around 150 members and their family were present.

 

KCWA Managing committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to members for attending the GBM in large numbers and for their valuable suggestions and also thank the management of IPS Salmiya for providing the auditorium.
