Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) held its first outdoor event for the year, Cricket Cup 2023 on Friday, 24 February at UPL Grounds, Sulaibikhat – Kuwait.
The tournament began by invoking Lord’s blessings by Veena Serrao. Vice President Harry Fernandes welcomed the teams and guests and declared the tournament open. Opening ceremony being led by Joyson Dsouza.
The tournament was held in 3 categories with 2 teams for Men’s regulars and 3 Teams for Men’s veterans, 4 teams for Women’s Regulars participated. The event was held exclusively for KCWA members and over 150 members took part in the event.

Team Canara XI Defeated the Crusaders Bejai to lift the coveted trophy.
Veterans Men

Team Warriors Veterans won the trophy by defeating team Rising Stars’ veterans by 4 runs.
Regular Women
- Infinity
- Dare Devils
- Rising Stars
- Canara XI
In the women’s final match team Daredevils defeated team Infinity by 23 runs to lift the winner’s trophy.

Ashley Cristopher, Jawad Raza Lanish Dsouza Wilfred Lobo were the umpires. Vedant Utekar, AmarDeep Singh & Babu Sidhu were also the scorers for the tournament.
Joyson Dsouza handled the presentation ceremony. Arun Jossy Dsouza Gave grace to god for the day. Naveen Mascharenhas gave vote of thanks, President gave her message to the members gathered for the tournament, invited members to come forward and take part in managing committee.
