Konkani Elocution Competition 2025: Winners

KCWA Managing Committee would like to thank the kids for their outstanding participation towards KCWA’s ಸುವಾದ್ ಕೊಂಕ್ಣೆಚೊ – ಕೊಂಕ್ಣಿ ಭಾಷಣ್ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೊ 2025, the Konkani Elocution competition on the topic “ಮ್ಹಜ್ಯಾ ಗಾಂವ್ಚಿ ಪುನ್ ಶೆತಾಂ and ಪರ್ಮಳ್ ತಿ ಮಾತಿ ಮ್ಹಜ್ಯಾ ಗಾಂವ್ಚಿ” which was open to all KCWA members and their children. We received 19 entries in total, 16 in the Junior Category (Class 4-7) and 3 entries in the Senior Category (Class 8-12), and our panel of judges have selected the best two for awarding the prizes in each category. Prizes were distributed to the winners by KCWA Spiritual Director Fr. Avil Rosario and Guest Priest Fr. Stephan Dsouza during the KCWA General Body Meeting, which was held on 29th August 2025 at the Indian School of Excellence, Salmiya.

The event commenced at 4:00 PM, with Emcee Johnson Dalmeida providing an overview of the competition. President Prakash Godwin Pinto welcomed the judges, participants, and audience.

Following the president’s address, the event coordinator, Reena Pereira, took the stage to explain the rules and judging criteria of the competition. The first segment featured the Senior Category competition, followed by the Junior Category, after which participation certificates were distributed to all the participants.

The judges were honored with mementos for their valuable contributions, and their profiles were presented by Vinitha Pinto.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by coordinator Kevin D’Souza.

Smitha Suvarna managed the announcement. Alban Dsouza Captured the moments and video recorded for social media updates. The sound system was provided by Alban Dsouza and Roshan Rodrigues, who also efficiently managed timekeeping and sound operations. KCWA thanks Phoenix Confectionary, Khaitan, for arranging snacks for the participants, and the management of the Indian School of Excellence for providing the venue.

Junior Category (Class 4-7):

1st Place: Rachael Mascarenhas and Lauren Mascarenhas – KCWA ID # 1991
2nd Place: Gloria Shanthi Tauro – KCWA ID # 2452

3rd Place: Kecia Anna Dsouza – KCWA ID # 2584

Senior Category (Class 8-12):

1st Place: Joyston Dalmeida – KCWA ID # 2801
2nd Place: Neil Aston Monis – KCWA ID # 1887
