Kuwait September 1: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) held its General Body Meeting on Friday, 31st August in Indian Public School Salmiya. KCWA Vice President Deepak Andrade invited KCWA’s Spiritual director Fr. Noel D’Almeida, visiting Priest Fr. Clement Mascarenhas on to the dais. The meeting commenced at 6:30 pm with the opening prayer lead by Naveen Mascarenhas. President Hilary Stevan Rego heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude towards all the members for their support, love and encouragement.
Various reports were presented and appreciated by all. Rajesh Aranha presented Minutes of last GBM and Harry Fernandes presented the activity report. Finance, Membership and educational fund reports were presented by Michael Pinto, Sunitha D’Silva and Alwyn Noronha respectively. KCWA website and Facebook updates were presented by Rajesh Aranha. Monthi Fest & Sports activity updates were presented by Jinella Rodrigues and Hywel Pinto respectively. President Hilary Stevan Rego briefed on Gulf Voice of Mangalore Season 6 and about upcoming events.
Fr. Clement Mascarenhas appreciated the noble deeds of by KCWA besides nurturing the rich culture of Konkani in Gulf. Spiritual director Fr. Noel D’Almeida lauded the charity works of KCWA. Rinna D’Souza conducted the lucky draw for the members present at the venue. Ivan Menezes emerged as the lucky winner. KCWA’s newly joined managing committee member Mabel Andrade was introduced to the members.
Anil Fernandes proposed vote of thanks followed by closing prayer. Vice President Deepak Andrade was the moderator. Nelson D’Souza captured the event through his skills in photography. Alban D’Souza provided the projector and Alwyn Noronha & Allen Pinto facilitated power point presentation. Sound system was provided by Anand D’souza and managed by Hywel Pinto. Dinner was served by M&M Confectionary Salmiya. Around 100 members and their families were present.
KCWA Managing committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to members for attending the GBM in large numbers and for their valuable suggestions and also thank the management of IPS Salmiya for providing the auditorium.
