KCWA Family Picnic 2018

The pleasant weather conditions in Kuwait drew people in large numbers at the KCWA family picnic, which was held on Friday, 30th November at Mishref Garden, Kuwait. Fun filled day started by invoking God’s blessings through prayer, led by Walter Santhumayor.

The event was called open by President Hilary Stevan Rego along with KCWA Managing Committee members. The picnic was open to all Mangalorean Catholics residing in Kuwait. Over 400 people gathered at Mishref garden early in the morning to spend the day with the community. President gave a warm welcome to the gathering and requested to enjoy the day with the spirit of togetherness. Management Committee Members joined the President in welcoming the gathering with an action song.

Various fun games like ‘Single wicket Cricket’, ‘Dodge ball’ and ‘Get 5 things’ were held for all age groups. Kids of age group 0-6 years enjoyed games like ‘Passing the parcel’, ‘Bombing the city’ and ‘Passing through the ring’. Children of age group 7-9 had ‘Passing the ring with a straw’, ‘Dog & the Bone’, ‘Shooting the target’, ‘River and the Bank’ while 10-12 age group had ‘Grabbing the pencils’, ‘Floating the balls’, ‘Running on the mat’ and ‘Candy Search’. Teenagers had games such as ‘Sack Race’, ‘Sponge water toss’, ‘Dropping the ball with shoe on’, ‘One legged balloon fight’. Ladies had a target game where they had to throw water sponge in the bucket. A Special medley game was organized for the senior citizens.

Volley Ball: Boubyan Team & Salmiya Friends
Throw ball: Winner : Boubyan Team & Runner up: Team Sunshine
Tug of war: Ladies– Miyar Friends & Shining Star; Men: MFE & Demons

Announcements throughout the day were done by Arun Dsouza & Deepak Andrade. Everyone enjoyed Delicious breakfast and lunch served by M&M Caterers.
Winners of various games and sports conducted during the day, received Trophies/Prizes from President Stevan Rego, Vice President Deepak Andrade.

Prem Crasto & Alwyn Noronha captured the special moments throughout the day. Sound was provided by Waves Events & Rentals The event was well coordinated by Ruth Veigas and Allan Dsouza with the support of Managing Committee members and volunteers. Sports events were coordinated by Naveen Mascarenhas. Sunitha Dsilva managed the membership counter. KCWA family picnic was enthralled with lot of fun filled activities to entertain actively participating enthusiastic Mangaloreans.
