Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), a premier Catholic Association in Kuwait, held its General Body Meeting on Friday, 28th August 2015 in Indian Community School auditorium, Senior Branch, Salmiya. The meeting commenced at 6:30 pm with the opening prayer lead by Mrs.Leena Fernandes. President, Mr.Albert Praveen Menezes heartily welcomed the gathering and expressed his gratitude towards all the members for their support, love and encouragement.
Various Reports were presented and appreciated by all. Mr.Louis D’costa and Mr.Deepak Andrade presented Minutes of last GBM and activity reports respectively. Finance, Membership and educational fund reports were presented by Mr.Steevan Misquith, Mr.Vijay D’souza and Mrs.Reema D’Souza respectively. Cultural and Sports activity updates were presented by Mr.Satish Saldanha and Mr.Loyd D’Souza respectively. KCWA website and Facebook updates were presented by Mr.Rajesh Aranha. Monthi Fest programme details were presented by Mr.Harry Fernandes. KCWA constitution amendment draft was presented by Mr.Steevan Misquith and Mr.Anil Fernandes respectively and same was approved by the members present. Lucky draw was held by Mr.Navin Mascarenhas for the members present at the venue. Mr.Allwyn Pascal D’Souza emerged as the lucky winner. KCWA Spiritual director, Fr. Noel D’Almeida, lauded the works and achievements of KCWA. Visiting Priest, Fr.Claud Mascarenhas congratulated KCWA family for supporting less fortunate in India as well as in Kuwait.
Mr.Steevan Rego proposed vote of thanks followed by closing prayer. Vice President Ms.Freya Saldanha was the moderator. Mr.Alban D’Souza captured the event through his skills in photography. Mr.Steevan Misquith facilitated power point presentation. Sound system was provided by Waves Events & Rentals-Mr.Anand D’souza. The projector was provided by Mr.Walter Saldanha. Dinner was served by PPPS restaurant. Around 100 members and their families were present.
KCWA Managing committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to members for attending the GBM in large numbers and for their valuable suggestions and also thank the management of ICSK Salmiya for providing the auditorium.
