KCWA Each One Reach One to Teach One Campaign 2021

KCWA took up the construction project of “Daya Day Care Centre” Belthangady Taluk, Ujire with the support of Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas in 2015, a school premises for the special needs children. KCWA funded the project with an amount of IRS 12.4 Lakhs towards completion of the project. An additional support of IRS 3.7 Lakhs was extended in the year 2017.

The centre was introduced to support differently abled children. Parents of these children are poor & marginalized and mainly daily wage earners/cooli workers. Due to the low income they are unable to fulfil the needs of their children. Daya Day Care Center looks after the day to day needs of the children by means of providing various trainings and medical aid students free of cost.

Daya began with fifteen special needs children and now within the span of three years it has ninety eight special needs children. It has nine special educators, two physio, speech and hearing therapists. Many have improved in health & hygiene and developed their skills in reading and writing. The centre has three regular drivers and five assistants to help the children. They also provide free transportation for these children. Children are served with daily morning break-fast, nutritious lunch and evening milk & dry fruits.

KCWA successfully organized a fund-raising campaign “Each One Reach One to Teach One” for 2021. In spite of us being in COVID era where many of us are facing financial hardships, the KCWA Members, Donors and Well-wishers came out generously to support our campaign which has resulted in collecting a whopping amount of INR 13,08,030/- [IRS Thirteen Lakhs, Eight Thousand and Thirty]. The message was clear, “COVID should not hamper the lives of special and under privileged children”.

We are fortunate to have our Ex-President Mrs. Rinna Maria D Souza along with her family who visited personally and handed over the cheque to “Daya Day Care Centre”, Capuchin Krishik Seva Kendra, Belthangady, Mangalore. A message of gratitude is received from Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas thanking the committee and the donors. The contribution of our well-wishers towards the cause has helped bring smiles on the faces of the less fortunate children.

We are always grateful to our Members, Donors and Well-wishers for their continuous support towards meeting the needs for the deserving children. It is your support that enables us to achieve success in all our projects.

List of donors is attached below.

May the Almighty God bless & protect all our beloved donors.
