Mangalorean Jeson to heavenly Abode

Young soul of Kuwait Canara Welfare Association, Glen Antony Jeson Crasta (42) from Holy Cross Church, Cordel Kulshekar, passed away on 23rd September 2021 at Adan Hospital, Kuwait. He was suffering from Renal failure for the past 7 years and was on peritoneal dialysis through Adan Hospital Kuwait. He was employed at a private firm. Lately his health deteriorated rapidly. Unable to work, he was struggling to meet ends and bear his expenses, decided to travel to Mangalore for further treatment.

His friends and well-wishers came forward with an appeal which was submitted to KCWA’s Managing Committee. Understanding his underlying condition, the KCWA Committee led by President Ruth Clara Viegas, moved faster and visited him at his residence in Salmiya, Kuwait and assured him their full support to arrange everything from flights to medical assistance in Mangalore including some extra funds for his expenses.

Unfortunately, before all these plans could go through, his health condition deteriorated rapidly and as we always believe, God has better plans for every individual; Glen lost the battle against his ailments and left to his heavenly abode on 23rd September 2021.

As he had an ardent desire to see his family back in Mangalore, KCWA Managing Committee rendered their full support to repatriate his mortal remains to his motherland for the last rites. The committee members Mr. Alban Dsouza, Mr. Alwyn Noronha & Mrs. Veena Serrao put in their efforts in obtaining necessary paperwork and clearances in preserving the body for repatriation.

On 25th September 2021, a prayer service was arranged at the Sabah Hospital Mortuary at 2.30 pm and the body was available for viewing for the last time before departing Kuwait. Rev. Fr. Franco Periera, sdb blessed the body. All his friends, colleagues and near ones lifted his soul to the Lord in Prayer.

The Mortal remains arrived at Mangalore International Airport on 26th September 2021, at 11 am, and was kept at his residence for public to pay their last respects to the departed soul which was followed by the funeral Mass at 3.00 pm in Holy Cross Church, Kulshekar Mangalore. KCWA Immediate Past President Mrs. Maria Rinna D Souza was also present for the last rites along with family and extended her condolences to the bereaved family by offering floral tribute on behalf of KCWA.

We thank the management, doctors and nurses of Adan Hospital Kuwait who took good care of Glen until he breathed his last and their swift assistance in clearing all documentations was commendable. Thanks to all the related government authorities of the State of Kuwait department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for clearing all paperwork with necessary attestation in spite of the weekend. We are indebted to the Indian Embassy and their faculty for their support in speeding up the process along with their guidance and most importantly bearing all the expenses incurred towards the repatriation. A special thanks to Mr. Abdel Latif (KKMA Magnet) for extending his support to KCWA in completing the necessary formalities. Heartfelt gratitude to Glen’s employer Mr. Ahmed, who constantly supported him financially as well as arranging regular checkups at Hospital. Finally, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors, well-wishers, his friends and loved ones who supported him in his journey.
