A New Chapter in the Journey of Kuwait Canara Welfare Association
Dear KCWA Members, Well-wishers, and Supporters
With immense gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility, we, the newly elected leadership of the Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), step forward to continue the noble mission of this esteemed organization. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the members for entrusting us with this responsibility and for their unwavering support.
KCWA has been a guiding light for underprivileged students, ensuring that financial limitations do not stand in the way of their educational aspirations. Since its inception in 1988, KCWA has remained steadfast in its mission—‘In pursuit of providing education to poor children.’ Through scholarships, educational assistance, and infrastructure support, we have transformed countless lives, empowering young minds to shape a brighter future.
Our journey began with four visionary gentlemen—Francis Misquith, Charles Vaz, Elias Saldanha, and Johnny Misquith—who recognized the power of education in transforming lives. What started as a humble initiative has now blossomed into a robust support system for thousands of students across multiple parishes and institutions. KCWA’s education fund, scholarship programs, and infrastructure contributions continue to make a lasting impact.
In addition to our educational initiatives, KCWA has been a pillar of cultural and social enrichment for the Mangalorean community in Kuwait. Through events such as the Monthi Fest, Konkani cultural programs, and various competitions, we preserve our rich traditions and pass them on to future generations. Our annual family gatherings, sports events, and social welfare activities foster unity and camaraderie among community members.
As we take on this new responsibility, we remain dedicated to expanding KCWA’s reach and enhancing its impact. We call upon each one of you to join hands with us whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word so that, together we can continue this mission of service and education.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our predecessors, benefactors, donors, and all members who have contributed to KCWA’s success. Your generosity and dedication fuel our commitment to this cause. A special mention to our past leaders whose efforts have laid a strong foundation upon which we proudly stand today.
As the saying goes, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” KCWA remains steadfast in its efforts to empower young minds, believing that knowledge and education can break the cycle of poverty.
As we move forward, let us remember the words of Mother Teresa: “We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” Every act of kindness, every contribution, and every effort counts in making a difference. Let us continue this journey together, upholding the values of KCWA and ensuring that education remains accessible to those in need.
“Over the past 37 years, 18 committees have been formed. We’ve seen many dedicated individuals contribute significantly to the success of KCWA. However, it is evident that only a few of our past committee members remain actively involved today. I sincerely invite and encourage all our former members to re-engage with the association. Let us come together once again, united in spirit and purpose, to support one another and work collectively towards strengthening KCWA for the future.”
May God bless KCWA and each one of you.
Long Live KCWA
With gratitude and commitment
Prakash Godwin Pinto, President
